- 2017: Irish Writers Centre: One to One Mentoring award. I was one of five Northern Irish writers offered a mentoring opportunity by an established novelist. This award was supported by the Arts Council of Northern Ireland.
- 2010: Fellowship for the Hawthornden International Retreat for Writers, Scotland, 10th January – 6th February.
- 2008: Joint first in the Cúirt New Irish Writing award, Galway, Ireland
- 2004: runner up in the Samhain International Poetry Competition, Donegal, Ireland.
- 2003: Nomination by Poetry Ireland as Best Emerging Writer at the International Poetry Now Festival in Dun Laoghaire, Dublin,
- 2002: Support for the Individual Artist Award (Arts Council of Northern Ireland).
